FAQ's

brushing your teeth helps keep them healthy

Do you have these issues with your teeth?

* Stained Teeth
* Damaged Teeth
* Gaps
* Crooked teeth

There are solutions that can help you have the beautiful smile you have always wanted.  Dr. Matar has a variety of treatments that can help restore your smile.  One such treatment is the use of veneers.

Veneers are wafer thin laminates or shells of tooth colored material (which can be either porcelain, ceramic or composite bonding material) that are “cemented” to the front surface of teeth to improve their cosmetic appearance.

A veneer is a thin layer of curative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer, composite and porcelain.

The advantages of ceramic dental veneers or tooth bonding are numerous and include:

* Porcelain and tooth enamel are both white and translucent. So they react to light in similar ways. Light enters them both and is reflected back off the layer beneath them.

* Since porcelain is a ceramic, stain-producing products roll right off the surface, just like glass. Veneers made of porcelain are naturally stain resistant, even for those who can’t give up their daily trip to Starbucks or their daily glass of red wine with dinner.
